Head of Security (Bidding)

Role Responsibility:
To develop and deliver successful bids for small to large scale (£100m+) government contracts. Engaging with the customer to understand requirements and translating them into solutions, liaising with other Heads of Bidding, working with internal and external bid production teams and stakeholders to deliver winning bids.

Manage the design and development of bids, including liaising with customers and consortia partners and negotiating with existing suppliers and subcontractors, to ensure that the commercial objectives and policy of Care & Justice Services are met.

Co –ordinate and liaise with operational teams, Bid Managers and Prison / MTT Directors to identify, design and develop service solutions that are commercially and operationally viable and meet customer specifications and requirements.

Manage the input to bids, writing or reviewing material as appropriate, ensuring that it is fully compliant with company policies, procedures, standards and approvals procedures.

Build relationships with stakeholders, including customers, advisers, consortia members and sub contractors, to ensure that all needs and requirements relating to the bid are taken into account.

Identify costs relating to the bid and service solutions ensuring that all cost and financial data is presented for cost and financial analysis and bid costs are managed effectively and probable variances are reported in advance.

Review the output of financial modelling to ensure that risks are identified, assessed and managed within the bid
Liaise with mobilisation and operational teams ensuring accurate, current and complete information concerning the bid is communicated effectively. Take an active role in mobilisation, ensuring a smooth transition to operational teams. Undertake projects in prisons.

Identify and acquire all necessary team resources (including staff, IT and finances) required to produce the bid.

The Ideal Candidate:
Experience of a senior role within a secure establishment.
Excellent writing skills
Excellent project management skills.
Delivery to tight timescales and ability to work under pressure

Please be aware that although this position is based in Coventry there will be a requirement to travel to our London Victoria office on a regular basis.
