Force Protection Operations Officer

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend general meetings, assisting with the planning of meetings, supporting the development of and writing of plans, orders, and fragmentary orders.
Organizes and assists with conducting working groups as required, to include the Force Protection Working Group (FPWG) and ad hoc working groups to address specific issues pertaining to force protection.Familiar with the Core Vulnerability Assessment and Mitigation Program (CVAMP) and able to perform tasks pertinent to this system, to include input of vulnerabilities, mitigation measures, purchase requests, and review of vulnerabilities.
Able to extract data and reports from the CVAMP system. Performs additional duties as specified to support the Force Protection Office’s mission and tasking.
Assist with drafting the USFOR-A Force Protection (FP) Plan for Governmental approval as well as review, update and maintain it so it is current based on changes to USFOR-A headquarters’ and higher headquarters’ plans and FRAGOs and applicable policy, regulation and DoD instructions.
Remain abreast of current DoD FP instructions and doctrine, USCENTCOM AT/FP Plan, and higher HQ Plans, Orders, and FRAGOs. Shall assist in drafting orders and FRAGOs for Government approval and publish approved orders to ensure dissemination of pertinent information.. The contractor may also conduct short information briefs to ensure key/essential information is disseminated.
The contractor shall remain abreast of current threat information through intelligence releases, threat briefings, and coordination with intelligence offices as required.
Assist in organizing, preparing and conducting working groups, to include the FPWG and ad hoc working groups.
Advise the Government staff lead for the monthly FPWG. Will assist the Government FP lead with compiling briefing components. Prepare intelligence/threat and plans/orders section of the FPWG briefing for Governmental approval. Assist in compiling inputs from contributing offices and personnel.
Assist in conducting Vulnerability Assessments (VA) with the primary focus on plans and training.
Assist in inputting, reviewing, editing, and creating reports, to include vulnerability reports; entering vulnerabilities; updating vulnerabilities and reviewing subordinate vulnerabilities in the CVAMP system.
Assist in preparation of the weekly FP Situation Report
Travel may be required throughout Afghanistan and the general CENTCOM AOR.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Bachelor’s degree in Force Protection or Homeland Security degree from an accredited in- residence college or university.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with the U.S. military in a contingency environment.
Thorough understanding of Force Protection and Operational Protection.
Must have, or be able to obtain within 180 days of contract award, Antiterrorism/Force Protection Level II Certification.

Additional competencies: Problem identification and solving skills; computer skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; competent keyboard skills; ability to plan, organize, build and present briefings
