Driver (Northwood HQ Primary Military Headquarters)

Purpose of Role :
•Northwood HQ is a Primary Military Headquarters and the Motor Transport (MT) driver is to provide a professional chauffer driven service of both Civilian and Military staff up to VIP.
•A high level of security clearance is required.
•All MT services are to be delivered in accordance with both MOD and or Civilian regulations at all
times.
•Working as part of the MT team reporting to the Transport Planner and Controller (TPC).
•This post holder will be expected to contribute towards the performance, growth and profitability of the business.

• Display a sound knowledge of the contractual requirements for the role.
• To comply with Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.

• Participate in an on call service to ensure a fast response to emergencies.

• The job holder is subject to general work instructions and direct supervision of progress and results.

Operational Accountabilities :
• Maintain compliance within Company, Civilian and Authority legislation, policies and procedures.
• Carry out all driving tasks in a professional manner.
• Carry out first line maintenance and vehicle checks in accordance with Authority and Civilian regulations.
• Complete all paperwork correctly.
• Cleaning and refuelling of the vehicles
• Ensure all problems, technical or professional are reported to your line manager
• Undertake any other reasonable tasks that may arise from time to time as required
• Interacts with stakeholders around specific work efforts and deliverables
• Supports delivery of Health and Safety policy and standards

• Promotes innovative ways to add value and reduce costs within the team
• Has awareness of cost / benefit as applicable to the tasks performed

People Accountabilities :

Knowledge and Applied Skills :
Essential -
Clean full driving licence
Category “ D1 “ manual licence with no (101) restriction
Driving Experience
Driver CPC qualification card

Desirable -
PSV category “ D “ manual licence
Experience working within a civilian contractor, outsourced, services MT Section

Additional Role Information :

Drivers are to display a sound knowledge of the contractual requirements of the role. They are to maintain compliance with Company, Civilian and Military legislation, regulations, policies and procedures and to provide excellent customer service at all times.
A high level of security clearance is required
Initially your hours will be set according to a rota between 06:00 hrs and 22:00 hrs Monday to Thursday and 21:00 hrs Friday.
Week 1 Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00hrs Week 2 Monday to Thursday 14:00 to 22:00 and Friday 21:00hrs

Start and finish times may be varied to accommodate business needs and you will be advised by your manager of any local hours of working applicable to your post/location.

The company may seek you to work in excess of normal working hours Where overtime is agreed in advance, payment will be made for each hour worked at the rate of one times your basic rate for hours worked up to midnight on weekdays. Hours worked after midnight on weekdays and up to 1pm on Saturday will be paid at one and a half times your basic hourly rate. After 1pm on Saturday and any hours worked on Sunday will be paid at double your basic hourly rate. Bank holidays will be paid at double time plus 1 day off in lieu. Overtime payments are only made where at least one hour's overtime is worked on any one day for which overtime is claimed. You will participate in an out of hours driver call out service.
