Security Manager - Leeds Arena & York Barbican

SMG is the world leader in venue management, marketing and development and also operate the Manchester Arena; Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle, York Barbican, Konig-Pilsner Arena, Oberhausen, Germany and Wroclaw Stadium, Poland.The 13.500 capacity Leeds Arena is a purpose built major entertainment venue located in the vibrant city centre ofLeeds. It’s unique ‘super-theatre’ style configuration has been designed to enhance the customer experience with all seats facing the stage/performance area. Leeds Arena will primarily host music, comedy and entertainment shows along with sporting events creating a modern, cutting edge, international, multi-event venue for Leeds. About the role – Reporting to the Operations Director you will be responsible for the security of staff and visitors, assets and buildings for Leeds Arena and York Barbican.

Key Accountabilities:

-To ensure Security policies are up to date, implemented and monitored.

-To provide a 24/7 security service securing company staff and property.

-To ensure all hardware systems, CCTV, House Radio, are fully functional.

-To administer security applications and provide management information or evidence for the authorities as required.

-To ensure all venue security/emergency/evacuation/business continuity procedures are up to date and practical.

-To manage access control systems for staff, tenants, visitors, contractors and productions.

-To manage the arena house security team and the control room.

-To control the internal patrols and maintain accurate records of the security.

-To work with the duty manager during events should an emergency situation arise.

-To advice to management in the event of any criminal activity by staff.

-To liaise with emergency services.

-To liaise with event medical cover and record their reports for Arena records: to carry out full analysis of the same.

-To liaise with production security for any breaches of house policy or procedures.

-To assist with investigation into insurance claims.

-To provide cover for the Building Security Officers including the control room.

-Any other duties as requested by the Operations Director and senior management team.

About You
-Previous experience of working in a similar security environment for a minimum of 2 years, ideally within the entertainment/leisure industry.
-Familiarity with CCTV monitoring and communications systems.
-Knowledge of how to monitor building and technical control systems.

-Have CRB clearance

-Hold a current SIA License

-Hold a CCTV License

-Have good communication skills at all levels

-Possess a good working knowledge of legal procedures.

-Adaptable enough to deal with any situation.

-Administration and computer literacy ideally with knowledge of MS office.
-Able to write and deal with policies and implement and monitor these.
Due to the nature of the role there will be a requirement to work week-ends, evenings and public holidays.
