Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for a Security Officer to join their team based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive site security service to minimize risk and ensure site rules are observed at all times. You will be dealing with employees, contractors and
members of the public. You will also deal with telephone enquiries, booking contractors and visitors onto site and ensuring that we are providing an effective service to give best practice security. You will provide initial action to site emergencies.
Candidates must hold ALLof the following to be considered for this role -
* a current valid SIA Security Guarding Front Line Licence
* have proven experience of working with technical security systems (CCTV and access controls)
* experience of operating within a large site, ideally manufacturing
* driving licence
* Health and Safety certificates/training
The Role of the Security Officer:
To patrol the site to ensure that the site is secure
To identify risks and take remedial action as necessary
Monitor access and movement within site, including the issue of keys, passes and equipment
Dealing with a wide range of customers
Make and maintain accurate records e.g. incident reports, witness statements, lost property, goods received and evidence recording
Responding to on site incidents e.g. fire, medical, environmental spills and intruders
Manual Handling e.g. when using the stretcher and emergency equipment.
Advanced First Aid
To provide cover in the absence of colleagues including switchboard closure
Provision of first aid in the absence of medical staff
Weighbridge operations, which include weighing vehicles and inputting information onto various databases
Monitor and test equipment as applicable e.g. intruder alarms taking action as necessary.
Issue various specialist permits, e.g. Hot Work
The ideal candidate should have/be:
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Experience of working under pressure
Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work on own initiative
Attention to detail
Good customer service skills
Computer literacy
Clean driving licence
Be prepared to undertake ongoing training
Health and Safety trained
