Vigilant Security Services are currently recruiting a corporate security officer’s for work located in Glasgow.
Scope:
This will be a temporary Post from February – August 2014. Working a shift pattern 12 hours per day Monday – Friday 60hrs per week. the post holder will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day security requirements a prestigious site, maintaining a good corporate image and high standards of professionalism. Pay rate between £8.90 p/h.
Responsibilities:
a) Supervise and coordinate the activities of the security team, including planning and allocating duties, preparing rotas etc.
b) have an understanding of security and health and safety legislation and regulatory
requirements, including but not limited to, IOSH best practice, risk assessments and first aid
c) Ensure that all security personnel maintain the highest possible standards at all times.
d) Ensure that he/she is conversant with; all ongoing security procedures; all operational and event related activities and; all matters relating to the provision of security services.
e) Ensure the timely completion of all incident reports and make sure that all necessary follow up actions are undertaken
f) Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with management instructions.
g) Proficient use of relevant communications equipment will require candidate to have good communication skills.
i) Ensuring all H&S policies are adhered to.
j) In addition to these functions employees are required to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.
k) Assist staff and visitors to the sites.
l) Ensuring that no un-authorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.
m) Maintaining an accurate record of any incidents that occur.
Personal Specification:
a) Smart and confident.
b) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
c) Have a demonstrable and experienced knowledge of the security industry.
d) Able to be vetted back 5 years or since leaving compulsory education.
e) Current SIA license.
