Job description
Become part of the Security Management team that operates in Selfridges, Exchange Square. Delivering the very highest standards of customer service to our Client, Staff and Customers of Selfridges. The role will be to manage / support the security operations daily, acting as the central point of contact between Selfridges and Securitas.


Personal Skills & Qualifications:
• SIA Licensed (Door Supervision)
• First Aid trained & certificated.
• IT literate- Ability to use MS Excel and Word as well as Email
• Retail customer services background

• A sound understanding of electronic security access control & CCTV systems
• Control Room Supervision
• Supervising front of house security team
• Customer facing/front of house skills
• Capable of displaying team leadership skills
• A high standard of appearance & dress
• Ability to demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high quality service
• Ability to liaise with others at all levels including senior management
• Ability to work within established procedures and contribute positively to any improvements
• A disciplined and professional attitude
• Proficient in written and oral communication
• General administration & document management skills
• Ability to deal with and control emergency situations
• Be familiar with and understand the principles of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
• To read, understand and comply with the site Assignment Instructions
• Should be proactive and self-motivated
• Ability to carry out training and performance management duties.


Responsibilities & Specific Tasks:


• Supervision of Selfridges Security, overseeing the team using CCTV, access control and other protective systems and act as a first line response to all incidents and their management & escalation procedures.
• To attain and maintain a high level of knowledge of the Site Assignment Instructions and the Site Emergency Procedures.
• To work closely with the Support Services Manager to ensure that all Selfridges Security Officers maintain high standards and are fully trained on all aspects of their duties.
• To carry out checks on general standards, uniform, hand-over documents, patrol checklists, security pass admin audits, site equipment checks and to ensure operations and duties are being completed as per Assignment Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
• To supervise training of all security officers and to deliver continuation training on a regular basis in order to achieve and maintain standards and prevent 'skill-fade’. (Continuation training should be conducted at intervals of no less than 6 month’s between training and should be logged).
• To maintain the site based security officer’s training records.
• To set and maintain high standards of discipline and be responsible for conducting preliminary investigations in relation to poor performance and disciplinary matters as required.
• To react positively and professionally in support of security operations and emergency situations as required.

Operational Duties:

• To supervise the day-to-day operations
• To conduct regular inspections of the security officer’s presentation and turnout ensuring that the highest front of house standards are maintained.
• To supervise the administration of the site routine tasks and operational procedures.
• To maintain contact with both Selfridges and Securitas management in accordance with specific and routine instructions, security officer training, performance and site discipline.
• To follow and comply with all site routine procedures.


This is a high pressurised position with high expectations from both Selfridges and Securitas, this position is suited to an individual with extensive supervisory experience who has the ability to adapt to any situation with professionalism and proactivness.
