Property, Procurement and Security Division (PPSD) currently comprises of nearly 300 staff and are responsible for the security of staff, premises and assets as well as facilities, real estate and procurement. The Division is led by a Head of Division who reports directly to the Central Services Chief Operating Officer. The security aspects cover a wide range of activity from physical security of the buildings, assets as well as travel security, vetting and executive protection.


Brief Description
Property, Procurement and Security Division (PPSD) is seeking to recruit a Senior Manager to develop and manage the division’s security responsibilities; this will be the most senior security specific role. Responsibilities will include the security operations of all the Bank’s main sites which form part of the UK’s critical infrastructure. Responsibility extends to a small team who undertake investigation, Fraud prevention, Executive Protection, Travel and Electronic Security. This is a demanding role that requires a broad range of technical knowledge, management as well as sound judgement and confidence. The jobholder will take an active part in the senior management team for the entire Division, contributing to the Division mission [quote} and working with other areas to achieve the best results to protect the Bank.

Detailed Description
PPSD has a broad breadth of responsibilities. This role requires close interaction with stakeholders across the Bank on a broad range of issues, so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. The responsibilities include Building and Asset protection, Cash Centre Audits, Investigations, Vetting and Executive Protection/Chauffeurs and Crisis Management. The job holder will need excellent written and drafting skills with a proven track record of introduction of effective policy initiatives.
The role will require the jobholder to continually review physical security risks across the Bank and provide the subject matter expertise on security issues to Senior Management. The jobholder may be called to deputise for the Head of Division during his absence on all Divisional matters.

· Lead on cutting edge developments in the subject;
· Lead and proactively drive critical analysis of problems and processes;
· Capable of presenting complex issues and offering advice at senior levels;
· Demonstrate leadership through impact, coaching and influencing skills.

Desired Skills and Experience

This is a challenging senior role, requiring a sound knowledge of security and risk management. The role will require previous experience of managing and motivating a large team. The specialist nature of the various roles carried out will require experience in operational security, strong insight into security technology, investigations, and protective security. Proven experience in proactive risk management is essential. The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of current security and emergency response techniques, procedures and threats. It would be an advantage if the candidate has experience of working within the financial sector and had established networks within Government, Military and Law Enforcement Agencies. The successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills. The role includes being comfortable dealing with stakeholders up to Governor level within the Bank and representing the Institution externally. Ideally the candidate will have chartered security professional status and a degree education.
