Job Introduction:


G4S Events is Europe's leading independent provider of event security and crowd management services across music events, sporting events, conferences and exhibitions.

We are looking for an Operations Manager who will be responsible for the planning, implementation and management of the G4S year round guarding operation at either the Etihad Stadium or City Football Academy, whilst managing a team of Senior Security Supervisors and Security Officers.

We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate enthusiasm, drive and commitment that will inspire both the customer and employees.

The role will require flexible working hours in order to support high profile events and match days.



Role Responsibility:

In addition to full Operational Management of the Man Guarding and Hospitality Security at either the Etihad Stadium or City Football Academy responsibilities will include:
Establish and maintain robust customer relationships to ensure complete understanding of customer processes to enable the delivery of viable security responses.
Operational responsibility for developing and implementing security plans, security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Information Protection, Incident Management and/or Investigation.
Responsible for conducting site reviews, writing audit/review reports, presenting to Senior Management.
Monitor and evaluate unit performance on key security issues and programs, recommend corrective action programs where appropriate.
Maintain knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology and update management on risk and threat that could impact client business.
Understand risk particularly with respect to level of crime, terrorism, workplace violence, threats from natural and man-made disasters.
Provide support to client's security management team and assist in conducting investigations of significant threats and/or the loss or misappropriation of assets.
Constructively challenges current thinking and practice, offering new ideas, alternatives or improvements to existing products, services and approaches.
Proactively develop, review and expand the service delivery to ensure added value to the contract.
Liaison with all providers of FM services across client business.
Assist in the recruitment and selection of employees in conjunction with the G4S recruitment team.
Ensure that all new employees are fully inducted and trained to carry out their specific roles and on-going personal development is supported in conjunction with the training team.
Ensure all Hospitality events are adequately resourced with security personnel and integrate this provision within the guarding operation.
Daily management of employees dealing with employee issues in line with company policies and procedures including discipline, grievance, absence and performance issues.
Actioning and responding to all employee communications including approval and reviewing expenses, holidays along with timely responses to any logged issues by the workforce.
Ensure that all company policies and procedures are fully implemented, adhered to and communicated to employees ensuring that all casual workers are working to the company values.
All other general Operations Manager duties that include:
Compilation of Assignment Instructions / Risk Assessments
Overview of site roster, ensuring all shifts are covered.
Training and Development inclusive of site specific matrix/questionnaires
Attendance at site operations meetings
Overview of Daily Security report and key performance indicators reviews.
Maintenance / Review of security model and compliance.
Staff welfare
Conduct regular team meetings
Maintain low staff turnover, maintain/review structured cover, holiday process
Strive for continuous improvement across all areas
Liaison with Police and local authority at operational level when required.


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential

Demonstrable management experience in the security industry
Evidenced planning and organisational skills within a customer focused business.
People management skills with experience of dealing with HR related issues
Previous stakeholder management experience in dealing with a range of principle customers.
Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
SIA - Door Supervisor License
Excellent PC Skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and excellent knowledge of security systems
Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
Excellent team working/managing skill
Ability to maintain discipline and enforce minimum standards.
Full clean UK driving licence
Ability to work on major new build projects and be an active part of a team developing security systems and procedures.

Understanding of all aspects of security including static, events and technology.
