Job Introduction:
As Country Operations Director, you will be expected to engage at a senior level with clients as well as form strong business/resource relationships across the wider Risk Management & G4S business, in order to enable and deliver operations to high standards across the SS(I) business portfolio.

In addition you will be required to deliver commercial security risk mitigation operations in Iraq, develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and act as the senior client focal point for all operational matters. You will also provide guidance and leadership in compliance, training and service delivery and be a key contributor to the SMT & support business success in 2016.

Role Responsibility:
SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM - BUSINESS MANAGEMENT:
Deputize for the Country Director on operational matters in his absence and be one of 4 key contributors to the business planning and management team.
Chair Weekly HODs meeting and Quarterly Management Meetings.
Be the operational trouble shooter and client lead for operations delivery and QA/QC.
Advise the Country Director and BD Director on risk mitigation.
Assist Shared Services Director (SSD):
in development and implementation of ops & admin procedures.
to ensure compliance with Staff Handbook and other IES requirements
in liaison directly with the HR Business Partner, working in conjunction with SMT.

LEADERSHIP:
Maintain discipline.
Lead operational delivery and customer satisfaction management. Inspire staff. Resolve issues.
Promote accountability and responsibility in management.
Develop staff. In conjunction with SMT assist in the selection and training of future leaders.

SECURITY RISK MANAGEMENT / CONTRACT MANAGEMENT:
Be the SME on security risk mitigation in hostile environment.
Design and implement operational plans.
Oversee management of security and H&S matters at the IEC.
Review practices & procedure to ensure optimisation between safety and commerciality.
Oversee delivery of contracts ensuring work is conducted in a safe and compliant way.
Establish and maintain relationships with senior clients on projects and act as the senior client interface for operational QA/QC matters.
Conduct complex security surveys and produce credible reports of commercial value as required.

STAFF WORK:
Align Country SOPs with corporate directives, contract requirements, GoI Law and ICoC and PSC01.
Oversee review of project SOPs.
Control SS(I) and RM level reporting to ensure integrity maintenance of company standards and values.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Instigate quarterly meetings to apply formal QA/QC and actively support the ‘Keep’ function of sales.
Coordinate with the BD Director to reinforce ‘Keep’ potential and promote a culture of client management amongst PMs.
Contribute to Bid / No Bid decision making, providing inputs on operational plans.
Ensure operational plans for new bids meet SoW and reflect best practice in security risk management.
Write the operational plan for inclusion in bids.
Present operational plans/technical solutions to potential clients in support of the bid process.

SPECIFIC TASKS:
Work as a part of the SS(I) SMT to maintain contract compliance while meeting financial targets.
Work with Country Director in Q3 to develop strategic plans for 2017 and beyond.
Work with the BD Director to promote and co-ordinate the retention strategy for current contracts (‘Keep’).


The Ideal Candidate:

Educational Requirements / Qualifications:
Commercial qualification in business-specific discipline (desirable).
Degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in a relevant discipline (desirable).
Military promotional courses (if relevant) to staff rank or above.
Health and Safety qualified (General Certificate).
IT literate (high standard) in MS Word, EXCEL and PowerPoint.

Experience:
Over five years’ senior management experience in the private sector.
Minimum of 20 years’ military or government experience.
Experience of working in a hostile and low infrastructure environment, ideally within the Security &/or Oil & Gas Sector in Iraq.
In-depth operational background in the hostile security industry.
