You are accountable for ensuring that the practical application of security measures, which will include the well-being of colleagues and guests, is according to the agreed policies of SCH/procedures/objectives. Some of the key processes include but are not limited to:
assess and report potential loss situations in the hotel in order to protect company assets, guest and staff property against theft of loss from both inside and outside premises
fully investigate and report all thefts and criminal offences occurring in the Hotel and during the tour of duty, record all relevant incidents in the Occurrence Book, compile necessary reports and statements
report and if possible, correct all breaches of safety regulations including smoking restrictions and prevention of accidents
monitor and ensure the secure handling of all cash movement throughout the hotel
carry out security checks and searches on staff/contractors entering and leaving the hotel
attend training courses as required in order to extend knowledge and maintain efficiency of the Security Department
be trained to certificate standard in First Aid
train colleagues to become thoroughly familiar with security processes and procedures
Qualifications
You have already gained first work experience in the same or similar role, preferably within a hotel environment. With your good working knowledge of firefighting equipment and procedures you will be able to respond to an emergency immediately. Your Nebosh National Diploma in Health & Safety & Master Degree in Security Management are desired. You will already have a SIA license (Door Supervisor) and preferably have good knowledge of current laws and legislations. Your working knowledge of CCTV and relevant computer programs make your profile complete.
