A bit about the role
We have a great opportunity for an individual with plenty of Security, Compliance and team management experience to join The Perfume Shop.
This roles key accountabilities will be to plan, direct and coordinate security and compliance activities to safeguard all company assets, employees and guests. The successful candidate will be working across the country and with all levels of stakeholders within the business, as well as external parties such as the Police.
As part of the role the successful candidate will at times be required to stay away overnight at short notice.
You will be:
• Ensure a clear Security & Compliance plan is in place for the business supported by robust and practical strategies and actions that are clearly communicated, supported, monitored and evaluated
• Lead, coach, develop and manage the Security & Compliance team
• Champion and promote a culture within the business of security and compliance awareness and ensure this is maintained at all times to minimise losses
• Provide support and advice for our Stores, Warehouse, E Commerce, Customer Service team, Area and Regional Management on Security and Compliance
• Improve awareness of shrinkage related issues through store and warehouse visits, compliance checks and coaching
• Conduct investigations and police liaison following losses caused by either internal or external influences such as burglaries, robberies, theft or fraud
• Manage the process of any Civil Recovery
• Carry out investigations where required into acts of gross misconduct and breaches of company polices and procedures
• Manage processes for stock loss recovery and reimbursement
• Represent the Security & Compliance Department within the Company and wider business dealing with sister companies and external auditors
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders
• Work with the HR Department to prepare any necessary paperwork and evidence for investigations and litigation
• Manage relationships with our third party security providers, including tendering, budget management and the setting and reviewing of agreed service levels
• Analyse data and identify areas of risk taking appropriate action and providing solutions
• Update, communicate and continuously develop Security and Compliance related policies and procedures
• Initiate projects to tackle local issues in conjunction with Regional Managers

What we will look for from you...
Essential:
• A Retail Management background or previous experience within a similar role
• Previous experience of managing a team
• Experience in conducting and preparing investigations
• Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational and influencing skills
• Effective decision maker
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Self-motivated and a good team player
• A full UK driving licence is essential
Desirable
• An understanding of retail and/or warehouse operations, including stock taking and supply chain
• Some basic knowledge of H&S, data protection, HR and consumer law
• Multi-site experience
