Security Specialist

Job Description
The Security Specialist provides day-to-day front line security for Cerner. The specialist monitors a variety of physical and logical security systems to ensure the safety and security of Cerner’s assets. They will play an integral role in in observing, responding to and reporting incidents that directly affect the safeguard of lives, data and property. The Security Specialist will also provide information and assistance, such as directions and building access. The Security Specialist responds and reacts to reported incidents and dispatches officers to respond to the incident. The specialist will also prepare the proper documentation to track and report their actions.

Qualifications
Desired Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Excellent attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Ability to investigate and analyse information, and draw conclusions
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to prepare detailed and accurate reports
Willing to work rotating shifts and overtime hours as necessary
Ability to work bank holidays and weekends


Basic Qualifications:
A-levels or equivalent completed education
1+year Security experience within a corporate environment


Preferred Qualifications:
Prior dispatching/call taking experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Criminal Justice
SIA certification preferred
