So with all those cards, gifts and buoyant retail sales strong loss prevention is vital in ensuring we correctly identify and minimise our losses.

The function is currently going through significant change and accordingly this is a unique opportunity to join an extremely successful retailer whilst being given the support and empowerment to design and drive loss programs under your personal control.

As Loss Prevention Specialist, reporting directly to the Head of Loss Prevention, you will have a considerable amount of autonomy in investigating Company losses and identifying new risk areas for address. You will also be tasked with conducting programed and ad-hoc audit activities as required. Above all, you will apply firm loss prevention interventions across a defined but widespread geographical area and of course, very much in the ethos of Card Factory, you will be expected to support other Loss Prevention colleagues UK wide as required.

Key responsibilities for this exciting role will be:

• To successfully perform a variety of investigation interventions in regards to loss events across the employer’s estate.

•To demonstrate the personal flexibility to deliver activity that accurately reflects the risk across the working hours and days of the organisation.

• To draft detailed post-loss review reports, that make solid improvement suggestions to minimise future occurrence. Lead on stakeholder liaison, as required, to ensure improvements are effectively implemented.

• To regularly schedule and visit stores in line with the audit program and business risk.

• To provide support and assistance to store managers to ensure they maximise cash handling policies whilst minimising loss.



To successfully deliver the role, your interpersonal skills will be without question, as will your ability to influence key stakeholders. Whilst not necessarily from a law enforcement background, you will have the ability to make solid judgements when faced with a variety of demanding situations as well as the skills to perform extremely high standard investigative interviews and deal with a variety of situations requiring excellent conflict and negotiation management intervention. You most certainly will have been involved in investigative activity previously (not necessarily retail based) and have performed lead investigator type activity.
