My client, one of the largest and fastest growing defence facilities in the UK, is looking for a Protective Security Advisor to join their site in Bedfordshire. On offer is a competitive salary up to £29,500 p.a. plus comprehensive benefits package and 9 day fortnight working pattern. The Protective Security Advisor will need to be an enthusiastic, responsible, and flexible individual to become part of the Security Team. They operate a small specialist team providing general and specialist security and safety support for 850+ staff on a 64 acre main site, several remote sites and other global operations. 

Mandatory Skills 
• Confident individual who has experience of working within a small team forming part of a larger security team. • Be organised and methodical. • Be able to work independently; effectively prioritise their tasks, remain pro-active and flexible. • Knowledge and understanding of Security Policy Framework (SPF), JSP440, and the Security Risk Management process. • Previous knowledge of government security procedures, including document, personnel and procedural security, as well as conducting security audit activities. • Conducting security surveys and advisory visits. • Experience of physical security/security infrastructure design. • Be able to gain and maintain MoD Security Clearance to the necessary level. • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and able to input, search and maintain Databases. • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. • A capacity to build lasting stakeholder relationships. • Knowledge and experience of conducting technical and physical counter-intelligence searches. • Administrative or relevant transferable skills. • Be familiar with MKIV Manifoil/ILS locks. Desirable Skills • Previous experience of UK Defence Industry security environment. • Experience of HMG security vetting requirements and procedures is necessary. • Previous experience of UK Defence Industry security environment an advantage. • An understanding of international security clearance processes is desirable. • An understanding of Information Security and Assurance principles.
