Deputy Security Manager

Role Responsibility

Supervise and lead a team of circa 56 staff. Manage staff in line with the appropriate policies in relation to issues including conduct, performance, absence, grievance, fair treatment, pay progression, leave and all other HR policies
Ensure that there is effective two way communication to all levels of staff within area
Ensure that health and safety standards are understood and delivered across all of hospital operations
Contribute to strategic discussions as part of the senior site management team sharing ideas and best practice to improve site performance
Provide written reports and witness statements to the Police as required and attend Coroners Inquests, Magistrate or Crown court to give evidence if required
Improve security awareness by directing people towards sources of advice or information
Ensure that all incidents relating to Security and Car Parking are recorded on Blueprint and acted on as per the work instructions
Play a role in crime reduction initiatives with the police.

The Ideal Candidate
Strong operational background in Security and car parking within facilities management, leisure, retail sectors, (or related)
Trained as an LSMS (Local Security Management Specialist) or willing to undergo that training
Proven experience of supervising employees, addressing performance issues effectively and maximising engagement
Decisive and accountable manner, with sound and proven operational and commercial judgement
Ability to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions/approaches
Strong ability to increase individual effectiveness through influencing leadership, motivation, coaching and training
Strong communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of compliance and health and safety within security.
