Role Description
The University of York is one of the top ten universities in the UK for teaching and research – and is first in the UK and seventh in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) world rankings of universities less than 50 years old and is seeking to recruit an exceptional Security Operations Assistant to join the Health, Safety and Security Department (HSSD). In joining the HSSD, the post holder will be committed to ensuring the highest level of compliance is achieved and maintained, and that quality systems and process are in place to monitor, assess and continually improve the overall resilience and arrangements for the safety of our staff, students and visitors.

This new role is a key post within the HSSD, as a professional and experienced security professional you will ensure that University’s community of over 18,500 staff and students plus the many thousands of visitors are safe. You will contribute to and maintain security services, arrangements, operational capability and processes across two large campuses and outlying premises, consisting of an estate of 700 hectares, and 220 plus buildings of diverse and often innovative design.

You will assist in providing a safe and compliant environment, supporting the University's objectives of ensuring world class teaching, learning and research and contributing to the economy and society at large.
