To conduct enquiries for the grant, variation and renewal of firearm, shot gun and explosive certificates, ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation, Home office guidance, Force policy and public safety. For further information please refer to attached Role Profile.

Essential Qualifications / Registrations
Educated to QCF Level 2/ GCSE level or equivalent in a range of subjects to include Mathematics and English or to have work experience that may be deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
At least two years work experience of working in a specialised customer focussed environment managing complex cases/enquiries and providing specialist advice and knowledge within a similar sector i.e. Police, HM Forces, HMC&E, gun dealers.
To be competent in the use and safe handling of firearms and shotguns
Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Knowledge of Police organisation and structure.
Experience of working with legal or statutory requirements
