Regional Security Manager

The primary purpose of the Regional Security Manager role is to manage the Security Operation in the areas of physical, material, personnel and information security across all Thales UK sites within region. You will provide an efficient and effective security service to all Thales UK sites ensuring compliance with Her Majesty’s Government (HMG),Thales Policy and Security requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Provide localised support to businesses to operate within the processes defined by Thales UK
Support interpretation of policies to business and to feedback comments, suggestions and further questions to the Head of Security Services
Manage the local policies of ; Access Control, CCTV Operation, Manned Guarding and Perimeter Security
Introduce ‘Best Practice’ policy across region aligned to Corporate Security Policies
Ensure that physical security systems and processes for the buildings, IT network and data are adequate, fit for purpose and in compliance with both HMG and Company requirements
Ensure that all employees (Permanent / Contractors and where appropriate temporary and sub-contract staff) complete mandatory security induction training and sign the relevant usage policies
Interface with the Site/Vetting teams to ensure that employees are only provided the relevant level of access and authorisation
Provide project support for the review of, acceptance of and response to Security Aspect Letters
Provide support for the sub contracting of contracts including review/audit of supplier facilities, providing security advice and guidance where required
Ensure all annual musters of protectively marked material are carried out in accordance with HMG/Company requirements – with any deficiencies being investigated and reported to Head of Security Services/HMG as required
Ensure all relevant site accreditations are maintained
Manage local security incidents and ensure that all incidents are reported to the centralised system
Identify inefficiencies with processes and highlight these to the Head of Security Services
Take ownership for the successful delivery of security awareness throughout Regional Sites.


Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Proven experience working in a defence security environment
An understanding of relevant security requirements for IT systems on UK commercial and defence programmes together with a broad understanding of the compliance requirements of ISO2700X
Knowledge of and ability to interpret HMG security requirements and international security agreements in relation to business needs
Experience in managing and developing people, including objective setting, performing appraisals, performance and resource management.
Provide security advice and guidance when required at all levels.
Arrange appropriate security training and provide assistance to programmes, projects and bid activities.
Ability to manage, co-ordinate and communicate both verbally and in writing at all levels within the Company and government.
Ability to plan, implement and control continuous improvement in security standards and equipment
Ability to gain HMG Developed Vetting (DV) mandatory
Educated to degree level and/or holder of a professional qualification
