Y Care International is looking for a dynamic, motivated and skilled Advisor to lead how we keep young people and our staff safe from harm. The successful candidate will provide technical support in mainstreaming health, safety, security and safeguarding management across the organisation, primarily within delivery of the International Citizen Service programme. This new post will provide leadership in developing and rolling out our new Security and Safeguarding Management Framework. You will play a lead role in building capacity of our staff team and local partners and responding to incidents as they occur.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level with a comprehensive understanding of strategic, tactical and operational global safety and security risk management and a good understanding of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. Demonstrable interest in, and knowledge of, working with young people and experience of safeguarding is strongly desirable.

We require someone with at least two years’ experience of working in working in security management position for an NGO and a minimum of one year’s (cumulative) experience working in programme delivery outside of the UK. You will have proven expertise in developing and implementing security policies, procedures and protocols and in delivery of associate training. Experience of safeguarding children, young people and/or vulnerable adults from harm and a working knowledge of French is desirable.

The post holder must be computer literate; be happy to travel overseas periodically, sometimes at short notice; and fluent in written and spoken English.

Location: London
Salary: £32,000 to £35,600 per annum
Contract: Fixed term until April 2018 with potential for extension
