Following promotion of the current job holder, we now require a new Security Manager for the North area of the route, based in our Birmingham Snowhill office.
With your commercial and construction security expertise, you’ll ensure that security considerations are built into the design, construction and operational phases of the HS2 project.
This will require application of current best practice around the security implications for our neighbours along the line of the new railway, our colleagues including staff and contractors, sites, land, property and HS2 assets.
You’ll need to build great relationships with other HS2 departments and local Police in your designated area, as well as other statutory bodies and government agencies so a detailed knowledge of UK Policing and partnership working with external organisations will be essential coupled with sophisticated stakeholder communication around sensitive issues.
Trained within a police or military setting, you’ll also bring crisis management skills, knowledge of current and emerging security technology and investigative processes to the role.
As you will need to assist in the delivery of incident management training to your designated area, you’ll have a sound understanding of these principles and the ability to deliver training to a diverse audience.
As we move into the construction phase and beyond, the nature of this role means we may require you to attend incidents (which may be in remote settings) outside of normal working hours.
It is expected that you will actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
