Responsibilities:
The Logistics Advisor shall provide guidance and recommendations to MOD personnel designed to strengthen the MOD’s logistics systems, infrastructure, and management capabilities.
The Logistics advisor shall advise the MoD Deputy Chief of General Staff for Logistics on issues related to military logistics facing the Somali National Army and MOD.
The Logistics Advisor shall assist the MoD leadership in the development and implementation of a plan to improve the MoD’s logistics management capabilities at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels.
The Logistics Advisor shall assist with developing and improving the MoD logistics personnel training curriculum.
The Logistics Advisor shall assist the MOD in developing accountability, inventory management and warehousing systems.

The Logistics Advisor shall assist the MOD with the drafting of training plans to support modernization efforts and operational objectives. Training plans shall include the following critical areas of logistics management:
Material management.
Logistics planning.
Program development.
Accountability procedures.

The Logistics Advisor shall assist with coordination between the MoD Logistics Directorate and other U.S. government-funded programs and instructors providing training to MoD personnel and selected SNA personnel pertaining to logistics.

The Logistics Advisor shall coordinate logistics development activities with the MoD officials.

Qualifications
Former US Army Logistics officer, minimum grade of O-4.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 10-15 years of demonstrated logistic support and management experience, to include overall inventory control, accountability, warehousing, supplies, services and material.
Demonstrated directly related experience with the procurement process, including receiving and disbursing of equipment.
Demonstrated directly related experience in developing inventory, accountability and other related computer-based accountability reports necessary to support both tactical and strategic logistics operations.
Demonstrated directly related experience as Support Operations Officer, and completed the 90A Multifunctional Logistics Officer Course, or Command and General Staff College or equivalents.
Demonstrated directly related experience working in an austere OCONUS environment, preferably in Africa.
Demonstrated directly related prior professional experience in positions requiring interaction with foreign personnel in a diplomatic and culturally sensitive manner.
Proficiency with personal computers and capable of using Microsoft office products such as word, power point, and excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Battalion Command experience is desired.
