If you have experience of leading a team in conjunction with overseeing the smooth running of day-to-day operational procedures then this could be your next career move.
The over arching purpose of the role is to deliver a service which promotes a safe and secure environment for the estate and its community which includes students, staff and visitors.
Operationally, you will be primarily responsible for the areas of security and car parking which, by their nature, require adherence to codes of conduct, compliance with regulations and the ability to respond quickly and professionally to incidents as they arise.
You will lead and manage a team of five people to work to your high standards. You will manage their performance, encourage them in their career development and inspire them to deliver excellent service.
The nature of the areas you will be responsible for can be emotive and decisions made may not necessarily find favour with the end user. We are looking for an individual who has the ability to deal calmly, tactfully and diplomatically with difficult customers whilst having the tenacity to ensure policies and procedures are implemented and enforced on a consistent basis.
Being responsible for a team operating across three campuses requires a logistical, highly organised approach to allocate resources to ensure 24/7 security cover is provided.
In addition to the reactive elements of the role, you will have the ability to devise solutions and continuously seek to improve working practices and processes in order to enhance efficiency, safety and well-being.
Estates and Resources provide a wide and diverse range of services to ensure the development and maintenance of the University estate, along with the provision of excellent customer service in order to build an inspiring work place for staff and students.
The successful candidate will embrace this role and the challenges it brings to strengthen the team and deliver a vital service that touches on all areas of the university.
