Essential Skills/Experience:
• Previous security management or supervisory experience (minimum of 1 years experience required)
• Previous experience of working in a co-
ordinated control centre
• Experience of monitoring CCTV systems within a busy, complex environment
• Demonstrable capability in writing incident
reports either paper based or recording
electronically via a dedicated incident management system
• Proficient in the use of computer systems and MS Office software programmes.
• Ability to create a daily report generated as a
result of daily operational site activity (either at the end of shift/day or a sequential report complied as the shift/day unfolds)
• Previous experience of working with agencies/authorities such as the emergency services, government agencies etc
• A good standard of verbal and written English
communications (GCSE at grade A-C or an NVQ
at Level 2 or above.
• Good interpersonal, networking communications (written and spoken English),
problem solving and analytical skills.
• 5 year verifiable work/life history.
• No criminal Convictions.
• No CCJ's.
• Must have lived in the UK for the past 3 years
Desirable Skills/ Experience:
• Experience of instigating a co-ordinated
emergency response plan through a main
operations control centre environment
• Valid SIA CCTV and Public Space
• Operating recording equipment associated
with a CCTV system and ability to interrogate
historical CCTV footage an advantage.
• Previous experience of standalone intruder
detection systems and those which are
integrated and designed to alarm through CCTV systems would be an advantage.
• Experience of co-ordinating or monitoring
emergency situations through a main operations control centre environment.
• Previous experience of using radio
communications systems across at least two
talk groups/channels.
• Ability to comprehend venue topography and
relate this to the CCTV system and its specific
layout in order to monitor, track and react to potential situations/incidents as they occur.

What will the individual be doing/ Day to day
duties:
Working as part of the G4S Security Operations
Team, the successful person will be fully trained and able to work closely alongside other G4S personnel, the LOCOG Security and Resilience Team and other key LOCOG functional areas, to ensure venue operations run effectively as per the LOCOG Security Concept of Operations.
The VSCC Group Leader will report directly to the Duty Security Manager and will provide technical support and advice to the Venue Security Manager as and when required. They will be responsible for supervising and co-ordinating the G4S personnel working within the Venue Security Command Centre.
The VSCC Group Leader will be responsible for the correct use of the VSCC communications and reporting support
systems, and in doing so ensuring the VSCC
team maintains effective communications
across their venue and across other Olympic
venues.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for operating the venue integrated
security systems which includes the Security
Management System, Perimeter Intrusion
Detection System, CCTV, Incident Management
System and the dedicated radio Talkgroups,
within the Venue Security Command Centre
(VSCC)
• Supervise the VSCC team, ensuring they are
motivated and focussed when carrying out their duties within the VSCC.
• Monitor the use of VSCC resources and
technology to ensure these are being used
productively in the manner intended.
• Oversee and supervise the monitoring of venue operations through the appropriate use of CCTV systems and in doing so assess, report and record public safety and security incidents.
• Ensure the VSCC maintains the client
requirement, to sustain a fully comprehensive
incident log of all security related events occurring in and around the venue.
• Ensure potential incidents/issues are identified and reported relevantly according to their severity rating and prior to these developing into serious incidents
• Monitor the use of the radio communications
systems to ensure it is being used properly and that all communication made through the system is done so within the guidelines detailed in the LOCOG Radio Operating Protocol.
• Assist the Duty Security Manager and the
Venue Security Manager in the co-ordination
and deployment of G4S personnel across the venue.
• Assist the Duty Security Manager in preparing
operational reports as required by the Games
Security Command Centre.
• Liaise closely with other functional areas within venue and key stakeholders. This would include liaising with and providing operational support where required to the other venue control centres.
• Maintain a duty log for all security radios,
accounting for each one and detailing who has
signed them in and out of the command centre
• Maintain a duty log for all other mobile security equipment, accounting for each one and detailing who has signed these in and out of the command centre.
• Prepare and provide information and or data
gathered through VSCC systems, in order to
create reports or to submit in support of work carried out by other agencies.
• Any other reasonable tasks assigned/directed by the VSM/DSM.
• Know and understand your responsibilities

Act 1998 in relation to personally identifiable and confidential information which you may be privy to, whilst working on this Project
