Security Manager

Job Introduction:
To manage the Security team and security operations on site
To deliver a service that meets/ exceeds the expectations of Pfizer

Role Responsibility:
To manage all security operations in compliance with statutory, company and contractual requirements.
To ensure regular, formal and recorded meetings are held with the client.
To initiate investigations into any actual or potential breaches of security, thefts, or other incidents relating to the security of the site.
To ensure the resourcing of the site remains at contracted levels using staff qualified (SIA) and appropriately trained for the site.
To work in partnership with other managers to ensure all site related health and safety and fire prevention issues are effectively managed.
To ensure all security positions are visited throughout the day. To ensure convenient lines of communication are in place between the manager and their supervisors.
To develop a good working knowledge of all security systems and other IT and to ensure correct application of the clients IT and security Policies.
To ensure the safety of all G4S employees and ensure that agreed health and safety regulations are maintained.
To deliver and drive appropriate training for all security staff.
To ensure that all officers have the appropriate uniform to carry out their role.
To meet regularly and maintain relationships with relevant external agencies including the Police, Local Authority and third party security providers.
To be available 24 hours a day in case of emergency.
To deliver regular new starter briefings including inductions for Pfizer staff.
To ensure that Key Performance Indicator’s’s (KPI’s) regularly exceed the expectations of both G4s and the client.
To ensure that Assignment Instructions (AI’s) are updated as appropriate and signed off by G4s management and the client.
To complete regular care visits and welfare interviews with all members of the security team.
To ensure all rosters are current and that duties are projected in advance via liaison with the AOC’s .
To ensure temporary and replacement Security officers are booked when required
To ensure all databases are current and updated correctly by staff.
To maintain fair and consistent discipline and grievance procedures.
To maintain and administer all on site FM radios.
To ensure all on site security systems are maintained to a satisfactory level and that system faults are reported and dealt with appropriately.
To monitor all resource requirements and report any potential need for new staff to the appropriate Contract manager.
To be the G4S on site contact for all security matters.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Personal drive and enthusiasm to motivate/manage the security team to consistently exceed the expectations of the client. 
  • Excellent personnel and communications skills. 
  • Relevant industry or sector experience is desirable. 
  • Ability to demonstrate a high standard of customer service. 
  • A good standard of verbal and written English communications. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as required 
  • Previous management experience is desirable. 
  • Ability to maintain and develop relationships with the client and be a confident people manager. 
  • Good IT skills and be confident in the use of all Microsoft Office applications. 
  • The ability to communicate in both written and verbal form. 
  • Have the ability to work under pressure.
