Investigations Manager

Job Introduction
The Corporate Investigations Team has a responsibility to provide an independent and objective capability within the Tesco Group to lead and direct all sensitive investigations, these will include, such situations where there is complex fraud with a risk of significant loss, serious risk of censure by a regulator, risk of material impact on the share price, and any other investigations likely to impact customer or staff safety and the reputation of the company.
In addition Corporate Investigations on behalf of the Group Security Director has a responsibility to assist colleagues in the implementation of the company fraud and bribery policies.
The Corporate Investigations Team has a Group wide remit and the post holder must be prepared to travel at short notice.

Role Responsibility

  • Provide an independent and objective investigation service for the Group that operates in a lawful and professional manner
  • Lead or contribute to serious investigations across the Group
  • Lead cross functional teams brought together for the purposes of investigation
  • Ensure assignments and projects are completed objectively, efficiently and to the highest professional standards
  • Manage, support and contribute to the development of others and share knowledge to enhance the development of the wider team
  • Take ownership of joint and specific Group objectives; including undertaking projects on behalf of the Group Security Director
  • Recommend improvements in systems and controls as a result of investigations
  • Maintain and promote the company fraud and bribery policies
  • Provide Tesco personnel with country security risk assessments
  • Liaise with Police Officers and other law enforcement agencies, government departments, customers.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of operating within a professional investigations environment
  • Experience of leading and managing complex investigations, preferably as a Senior Investigating Officer
  • Experience of working in different legal, statutory and regulatory environments
  • Experience in undertaking formal interviews
  • Ability to assess and make sense of diverse and complex information
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to deliver training solutions
  • The ability to negotiate and influence at all levels 
  • Basic IT competency - an intermediate level would be preferable
