Reporting
to the Area Security Manager and providing a full line of
responsibility to the Store Manager the role will encompass all aspects
of managing a team of Security Officers to ensure loss prevention within
a retail store in Surrey. Making sure that loss prevention procedures
are being followed to minimise the risk of loss. Dealing with the
apprehension of shoplifters.
Key Responsibilities
Working to exceed the client’s expectations in providing a first class service.
Self management and development
Weekly and period planning
Submit weekly matrices and itineraries
Submission of holiday applications in accordance with procedure
Understanding of the management and officer appraisal procedures and action plans as required
Encourage and foster a good team relationship
Monthly welfare meetings with all security officers to assist their development
Operational & Training
Having regular meetings with the client management and loss prevention team.
Maintain
a management role over all security officers deployed on site ensuring
that all rosters are fully complemented with experienced officers. Show
awareness and action any possible dropped shifts due to holidays or
sickness
Ensure that all officers deployed are appropriately licensed for their task
Maintain regular liaison with all officers within the shifts
Maintain
regular (daily) contact with line manager advising especially of any
incidents and occurrences together with appropriate action plans
Be fully aware of company processes and procedures, particularly in respect of; disciplinary, holiday / sickness, health & safety procedures and requirements.
Be aware of all holiday entitlements due and that replacement trained officers are in place to cover agreed rosters
Complete company and site inductions for all new officers within their first day of starting
Complete site surveys and have a full understanding of the assignment instructions ensuring that these are updated accordingly
Complete training and development plans and appraisals in line with company timescales for all officers
Check that all officers are conversant with the assignment instructions and that they are signed by all officers working on site
Show a continued commitment to high standards
The
successful applicant will come from a Retail Security background with
loss prevention experience and possess a valid SIA Security or Door
Supervisor licence. They will have excellent leadership skills along
with excellent communication skills and be flexible.
