The Head of UK Security Manager is required to manage and support the Yodel Security team with their security management & develop their security strategy across the UK.

Key Activities:
Ensure proactive measures are put in place to prevent and detect crime against Yodel
Manage crime investigations within the UK and if necessary abroad, both external and internal and ensure remedial and appropriate action is taken, engaging the Police for prosecutions where evidence exists to do so
Develop and maintain relationships with field operations management, staff and supporting departments ensuring we develop an empathy with all colleagues
Liaise with management of all sites to ensure that loss prevention measures are maintained by supporting and providing professional support and consultancy
Actively pursue a policy of security awareness within the whole company
Provide guidance, support and advice to Yodel clients and their customers and ensure SPOC relationships are appropriately managed and maintained with Strategic clients , if necessary establish exchange of information for mutual benefit.
Work with service centres to ensure the detection of Fraud through such schemes as DFI is productive
Work with Police Officers and other agencies if necessary both locally and nationally to promote co-operation with Yodel on criminal matters
Management of covert operations in conjunction with the Support Services Director
Attend business crime meetings externally as and where appropriate
Manage the Intelligence /Admin Team in relation to developing and producing appropriate MI , Intelligence packages and the administration and support of all CCTV, Access and Alarms across the whole estate
Support development of business cases engaging with Estates / Facilities and Finance Departments as appropriate
Control of security budget in conjunction with the Support Services Director
Constantly review security areas for cost savings to ensure Yodel are getting best value for money
Manage intelligence to provide the best actionable package to both field based and site managers
Ensure relevant and easily understandable loss data is provided to Service Centres
Ensure all guarding SLA’s are conducted and are to an acceptable standard
Manage the guarduing contract and attend quarterly contract guarding management reviews
Remain aware of changes in criminal and civil law pertinent to the business and staff and ensure all areas under your management are briefed accordingly
Ensure that policies and procedures are fit for purpose and recommend changes as appropriate
Liaise with management of all sites to ensure that loss prevention measures are maintained
Use and manage computer based security reporting systems to record all security incidents
Ensure security audits are carried out and initiate corrective actions as appropriate ensuring that statutory and company security policies are maintained at the required levels
Ensure sufficient and appropriate vehicle and personal searches are maintained in accordance with agreed procedures.
Regular site visits to check physical security facilities (fences, doors, locks, security cages, CCTV and recording facilities) are in good working order and used correctly.
Attend Civil or Criminal Courts/Tribunals as a witness acting on behalf of the company as required.
Manage the Lost property team and process ensuring the maximum number of parcels are repatriated and backlogs are kept to a minimum
Contribute to compliance based issues as required
To Line Manage including performance management of all Regional Security Managers , Intelligence Team and Loss Property Team
Set challenging and achievable objectives in conjunction with the Support Services Director
Ensure that all security personnel conduct their activities to the appropriate standards
Review team performance on a monthly basis and carry out formal staff reviews at least twice a year
Manage training and development needs ensuring relevant competency, particularly in areas of legal and regulatory compliance
Check and validate all expense claims for managers in your team
Manage the relationship with the contract guarding company in your area treating them as one team. Daily contact being made with the contract guarding suppliers management team
On limited occasions deputise for the Support Services Director on Security matters supported by the COO

Key Experience
Experience of working with civil and criminal law (3 years minimum 5 years desired)
Experience of working in an investigatory role(2 years minimum 4 years desired)
Experience as a manager within a regulatory or enforcement environment (1 year minimum 2 years desired)
Experience of managing field based teams (2 years minimum)
Experience of Budget control (2 years minimum)
