Security Day Gate Officer

To provide a quality security ‘front of house’ service on the customer’s site in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.

To provide a high quality service to the customer at the specified site in full compliance with the applicable Assignment Instructions and following basic Site Training.
Provide front of house, customer friendly security duties.
Monitor & control client management, visitor, contractor & delivery vehicle access/egress control.
Accurately log delivery vehicles & taxis in & out.
Review & monitor site access control system.
Complete & submit computerised ‘incident’ reports when necessary.
Carry out vehicle & person searches in-line with company & client procedures.
Conduct all foot &/or vehicle patrols diligently.
Deal with lost & found property.
Deal with casualties & provide first aid when/if required.
Ensure that personal appearance and personal hygiene standards are beyond reproach. Strict adherence to uniform dress standards is to be maintained at all times.
Investigate - deactivate/activate intruder alarm when required
Deal with any incident or occurrence in accordance with the site specific Assignment Instructions and to report such incidents promptly as per Company’s reporting procedures.
Assist with fire evacuations/drills when required.
Accurately log on & off duty, as instructed & trained on each occasion a duty is started & ended.
To diligently take over every duty shift ensuring that a full check of the Daily Occurrence Book is carried out on each take over of duty, ensuring that all site equipment is signed for on each shift changeover.
Assist with weekly fire testing of buildings.
To accurately record all ‘incidents’ in the Daily Occurrence Book.
To communicate effectively in the workplace and maintain a harmonious relationship with all members of the client’s and company’s staff.
To carry out work activities safely following health & safety regulations. Using appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) and keeping the work area free from unnecessary hazards.
To carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the on duty Security Shift Supervisor, Security Manager & General Services Manager.


Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential
SIA Licence
Good communications skills
Ability to adhere to all health & safety practices
Strong customer service skills
Positive approach to learning in role
Ability to work effectively on own & as part of a team

Desirable
Computer literate or ability & willingness to learn
First aid at work qualified; however, training will be given
