Security Control Room Manager at The University of Leicester
Compensation: £26,537 to £30,738 per annum

As a security control room manager at the University of Leicester you will ensure the consistency of the operational performance of the security control room by creating and developing operational procedures, supervising, coaching and training control room operators to deliver optimal operational standards. You will also manage the security installations and data streams within the control room. In addition, in this role you will assist and support the Operational Security Teams in the delivery of security measures and response to incidents.

Desired Skills and Experience
Essential


-Educated to degree level or equivalent vocational experience acquired through a combination of job related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
-Significant relevant experience in a similar role or have worked in a busy control room environment.
-Previous experience in supervising or teaching and coaching / developing others in their role.
-Evidence of experience of planning and prioritising own and others workloads.
-Evidence of experience of assess situations and respond appropriately.
-Evidence of experience in the use of CCTV and other control room equipment.
-Must be able to demonstrate and understanding of data protection with respect to a control room environment.
-Evidence of knowledge of service, process and working practices of a control room.
-Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly, explaining questions and requirements and responding to customers, colleagues and visitors.
-Ability to transcribe and accurately record information.
-Ability to plan and organise the time of self and others.
-Good written interpersonal communication skills.
-Has computer skills including use of E mail, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel or similar.
-Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and quality standards.

Desirable

-Experience of working in a busy environment.
-Familiar with local geography.
-Holds a current Security Industry (SIA) CCTV Operators Licence.
-Demonstrate a knowledge of Control Room procedural responses and understanding of technical specifications along with national codes of practice for CCTV operation.
-Proven management skills.
