Main Purpose of Role


Join a team whose ambition is to become a recognised force in the UK Digital Forensic Investigation market. Helping to integrate Forensic investigation services into a wider Capgemini HMRC Account and Capgemini Corporate security service provision. Assist in building a team of digital forensic investigators that have internationally recognised Forensic Investigations qualifications and obtain ISA17025 Accreditation. Perform forensic collections of data and conduct detailed forensic analysis tasks including data recovery, production of forensic images and compilation of forensic examination reports.

Key Responsibilities
Manage business operations and procedures, typically dealing with administrative tasks and financial data reconciliation management. Responsible for adoption and implementation of business area policies, processes and practices.
Analysis and interpretation of ‘high profile’ incidents/events that require full in-depth investigations. Recording and classification of all incoming investigations. Collection and management of evidence to ensure that the chain of custody is fully documented in accordance with Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and BIP0008. Use of forensic and data mining tools to collect, search, recover, sort and organise large amounts of information in all phases of an investigation. Conducting interviews to gather additional information in support of investigations. Developing verbal presentation skills to work towards ‘Expert Witness’ status. Production of high quality written reports presenting complex technical matters clearly and concisely and articulating expert opinions based on analysis. Ensuring that all aspects of investigations are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the RIPA Act, PACE Regulations and ACPO guidelines. Keeping up to date with changing processes, technologies and legislative changes. Introduction of continuous improvements in the way that forensic investigations are conducted.


Skills and Experience
• Practical experience with EnCase, FTK, Paraben, nuix, X-Ways.
• Data capture techniques e.g. Helix, EnCase Enterprise.
• Ideally EnCE certified.
• Experience of forensically analysing mobile devices, for example Feature phones, Smart phones and Tablets.
• Network forensics (Netwitness), forensic analysis, mapping devices.
• Data extraction files from a variety of file types.
• Programming or Scripting in UNIX/C#/.NET/Python/Perl/PowerShell.
• Understanding of the OSI model and IP networking.
• Understanding of RIPA/ACPO/PACE regulations / guidelines.
• Microsoft products including Access database, MS outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint Sharepoint.
