An exciting opportunity working within the fraud & financial crime team at a leading financial institution based in the City. The Fraud Investigator will conduct complex investigations to mitigate fraud losses across a number of retail products. You will be expected to identify potential gaps in processes and making recommendations to mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities:
Investigate/Analyse and case manage fraudulent applications to mitigate the risk. Report to Management accordingly to minimise any potential financial and/or reputational risk, by utilising the fraud tools as appropriate and to their maximum
To carry out investigations into financial crime committed both internally and externally to protect the interests of the Company and it's stakeholders
Analyse and review financial crime risks/trends on products and services by advising on potential weaknesses to mitigate risk to business
Report and escalate fraud events to the line and colleagues in a timely manner to mitigate risk and comply with escalation policies
Advise other areas of the business of fraudulent or suspect cases and to recommend the appropriate course of action
Build contacts internally and where authorised with other financial institutions and External Authorities
To provide timely and clear reports to management as appropriate, upon the outcome of investigations
Learning from investigations is shared and recommendations are made to improve processes to contain future losses

You will need to be a Subject Matter Expert in Application Fraud procedures with:
At least 2 years experience in a fraud prevention role
An understanding and knowledge of Fraud Policy
A good understanding of fraud trends in fraudulent activities within the industry generally and a understanding and awareness of related economic environment
The ability to identify risks within processes and support implementation of appropriate controls
Good communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders, building relationships with internal teams, delivering exceptional rapport and results to gain a positive resolution for the bank as a whole
Uses complex techniques in analysis and recommendations
Ability to identify improvements within current procedures and systems
Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to work accurately
