Position Summary

The EMEA Regional Security Director’s (RSD) role provides security management and oversight for all facilities, productions, people & events in Fox’ Europe, Middle East & Africa region.

With over 2,500 employees across the region, the role will consult, collaborate and build the consensus necessary to achieve the objectives of the overall corporate security strategy.

The role will lead the security function for the region, working in close conjunction with the SVP Security, Environmental Health & Safety (SEHS), to focus on complementing existing and new personnel, facility and content security initiatives through the implementation of physical security policies, plans and procedures.

Additionally, the EMEA RSD is a key evangelist and conduit to functional groups responsible for wider corporate governance and risk reduction initiatives within the region & globally.

The role will be fully supported by the US-based security team, and aside from oversight of security vendor activity, will not initially have any direct reports.

Responsibilities:

The EMEA RSD will support all FOX facilities, productions, events and personnel across the region, in a role that is fully directed and assisted by SEHS. Duties would include (but are not limited to):


As directed by SEHS, implement the broader enterprise security risk management program across the region.
Ongoing review and cost-effective improvement of security at offices across the region, in conjunction with SEHS and all key stakeholders for each facility.
§Development and implementation of best-practice emergency response plans for each facility.
Security awareness training and drills for staff at key offices across the region.
Crisis management planning and drills.
Oversight of security at key events/junkets/premieres/industry tradeshows across the region.
Regional responsibility for the global travel security program.
In conjunction with Investigations and SEHS, ensure appropriate assessment and response to threats.
Law enforcement liaison in key territories.
Security vendor vetting and management, in particular ensuring that armed and unarmed security at fixed and temporary locations across the region are appropriately qualified and trained.
Ensuring that security technology across the region is implemented in accordance with corporate security standards and strategy.
Coordinate executive protection tasks as required.
Leverage the Global Security Operations Center to achieve enterprise security objectives in the region.
Assist SVP SEHS in the development and implementation of the regional Crisis Management Plan.
Advise and support all television, theatrical and broadcast production entities in region.
Support the implementation of physical security requirements and resources for offices and other Fox sites in region, in accordance with Fox Physical Security Standards.
Act as Representative in the region for the Investigations team.
Coordinate anti-piracy plans and resources for pre-release screenings, sneak previews and public releases of major features in region.
Support regional IP, content security and content protection initiatives as required.


Qualifications and Experience:


The RSD is an experienced security professional, with a strong background in physical security:


Undergraduate degree in a field related to security and/or 10 years’ experience in security management or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
At least five years’ experience (post-commissioning) as a regular (full-time) law enforcement, military or intelligence agency member is desirable.
Experience in the planning and conduct of complex operations.
Experience of operating in an international context (postings, exchanges or experience in working within a foreign multinational company).
Experience in the assessment of risk and the provision of security advice including the conduct of security assessments (personnel security, physical security and information security); and risk management.
Experience in the planning and conduct of training activities.
Experience/familiarity with the deployment and employment of physical security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion systems, etc.).
Strong leadership skills.
The ability to influence peers, subordinate and senior management in order to drive the development and implementation of effective policies, practices and procedures.
Strong analytical skills.
Project Management Skills: Proficient in managing project deliverables. Results-oriented and able to meet deadlines with a minimum of direct supervision.
Attention to Detail. A rigorous approach to ensuring the quality and completeness of all products and services.
Communications: Superior written and verbal communication skills with experience in report writing and presenting to senior management and external stakeholders.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong team player with the ability to negotiate effectively to achieve objectives. Capable of operating effectively in a small team environment.
Exceptional presentation and training skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences including management, clients and employees.
Adept at building consensus for programs and initiatives across diverse functions within the corporate environment.
Commercial Acumen: Clear understanding of the commercial imperatives that drive the business.
Cross-Cultural Experience: First-hand knowledge of overseas locations, and experience with operating internationally in difficult situations and/or adverse conditions. The ability to interact comfortably with people from other cultures, including being able to work through interpreters and intermediaries.
A second language – relevant to EMEA – is desirable.
