Description of Position

To manage the day to day operations of the Resort Safety department, managing designated shifts and events whilst maintaining high levels of communication within the department and across the resort. The successful candidate will be responsible for instilling the Butlins culture within the team and managing people related issues as well as the hands on operational side of the role including dealing with guest issues, first aid services and leading from the 'front line'.

Key responsibilities and duties

Operational control for the safety and security of guests, team members and the company
Lead and manage the Resort Safety team whilst role modelling the Butlins way of working
Maintain strong communication and relations with other departments on resort
Managing Health & Safety within the department on behalf of the resort
Handling all operational issues proactively as they arise with a 'hands on' approach

Dealing with external bodies such as the police and local council
Incident reporting in a variety of formats and other administrative duties
Managing the development of team members ensuring performance issues are identified and resolved, and overseeing training and development of all team members
Managing first aiders and first responders to ensure legal compliance
Supporting the Resort Safety Manager in aspects of their role
Any other duties relevant to the role
Requirements

The ideal candidate should:

Have at management/supervisory experience
Have good communication skills (including written, verbal and computer literate)
Be a committed team player including being flexible, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service
Have a problem solving attitude
Be confident to work on own initiative
Have a hands on approach
Be flexible with working hours to include evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays etc
