Security Guard - Borehamwood
The Laing O’Rourke group delivers some of the world’s most challenging and iconic construction projects by combining innovative engineering, world-class processes and the experience and skills of our 36,000 employees worldwide.
As part of our vision, we are now recruiting as part of our build up of a direct delivery, ‘in-house’ security teams to protect our business interests and projects across the UK, and the next stage of this programme will be a Logistics Centre in Borehamwood.
In order to do this, we are looking for talented and committed team players to be the vanguard of our in-house approach in delivering our ‘Select Guarding’ solution on behalf of our Shareholders.
Experience of ex HM Forces, Police or Prison Officers preferred.
NATURE & SCOPE: - Working day shifts during opening times, the post holder will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day security requirements of a busy logistics centre. You will need to maintain an impeccable corporate image and high standards of professionalism.
Key responsibilities:-
Controlling access and egress to site for both vehicles and personnel during opening hours.
Greet visitors and ensure relevant security procedures are carried out.
Proficient use of relevant communications equipment will require candidate to have good communication skills.
Ensuring all H&S policies are adhered to.
Key accountabilites:-
Assist staff and visitors to site
Ensuring that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas
Maintaining an accurate record of any incidents that occur
Person specifications:-
Smart, well groomed and confident
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable with excellent time-management skills
Have a demonstrable knowledge of the security industry
A commitment to providing first class customer service is essential
A frontline SIA licence is required
A CSCS card is required
Self motivated
Punctual
Good report writing skills
Conflict management aware
High level of Customer Care Awareness
Security systems knowledge
First Aid training would be an advantage
Forklift licence would be an advantage
Vehicle Marshal would be an advantage
IT literacy would be an advantage
Able to be vetted back 5 years
