Dog handler positions throughout 2013

Due to contractual commitments throughout 2013, ‘Detector Dogs UK’ will be looking for self employed dog handlers in the following disciplines;

Passive drug search dog handlers
1. Exemplary appearance and time keeping
2. Above average communication skills (verbal and written)
3. Evidence of professional training
4. Possess your own fully trained, non intrusive dog (working to ACPO standard), on all current substances
5. Carry public liability insurance
6. Own unmarked vehicle for safe transportation of dogs
7. SIA – Door supervisor licence or higherExplosive Search dog handlers
1. Exemplary appearance and time keeping
2. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
3. Evidence of professional training
4. Former Police or Military trained personnel only
5. Possess your own fully trained dog (to ACPO/Military standard) on all current substances
6. Carry public liability insurance
7. Own unmarked vehicle for safe transportation of dogs
8. SIA – Door supervisor licence or higher

Patrol dog handlers
1. Exemplary appearance and time keeping
2. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
3. Evidence of professional training
4. Possess your own fully trained patrol dog. Dogs will be able to indicate on a concealed person, protect the handler, speak (and quiet) on command and display good level of general obedience
5. Carry public liability insurance
6. Own unmarked vehicle for safe transportation of dogs
7. SIA – Security licence or higher

Handlers must be able to provide evidence of training in the relevant field, all certificates, references etc will be thoroughly checked. Handlers must be prepared to submit a copy of their Public liability insurance, which will also be verified, prior to any deployment.

This is NOT a CV harvesting attempt. We will only employ professional staff, as such we pay above the industry standard rates in recognition of this fact.

The working ability of each dog team will be assessed, prior to any deployments.
