Overall Department Direction
Reporting to the Engineering Director in Keynsham and managing the security team, including the Security and Technical Information Centre.

Main purpose of role
To ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of MoD information, ensuring the continuation of List ‘X’ Status and MoD Contracts.
Providing advice and guidance on Security matters to as required.


Key Skills and Knowledge
Must have working knowledge of HMG Security Policy Framework; JSP440; JSP 480
Key Behaviours and Technical Competencies
Must be able to multi-task
Deal with difficult and sensitive situations
Must be able to communicate at across all levels of the business
Excellent computer literacy
Able to produce policies and procedures at local level
Report writing skills

Experience
Must have previous experience dealing with the spectrum of List X security obligations, and some experience with MoD environments.

Qualifications
Level 5 qualification preferred,
Must have - NVQs in DISA Courses: ‘The Role of Security Controller’ ; ‘Document/Information Security and International Visits and Contracts Security’; IT Systems Accreditation’; ‘Security Vetting Procedures’, or obtain within 1 year or starting post.

Security
Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.

Description of Location
This position is within the Submarines business unit as a grade 5 which has a salary range of £30,510 to £37,630 with DRDL Terms and Conditions.

The successful candidate would normally be expected to start at the minimum of the band unless particular skills and experience justify otherwise.
