Job Outline: To ensure that the physical security for the site meets contractual and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilties:
To patrol internal and external of buildings/offices and perimeter.
To control access to building to permit only authorised personnel to enter.
To provide a Visitor Reception service to persons visiting the site.
To detect, and if possible prevent, forcible or surreptitious entry to site/building by those without
authority and deter and detect vandalism.
To carry out random access/exit searches of members of staff entering and leaving the building.
To monitor activity on site and in the immediate vicinity of the site.
To act as first point of contact for any emergency and co-ordinate emergency response where necessary.
To where necessary deal with suspect postal packages and suspicious objects in accordance with agreed procedures.
To monitor the effectiveness of the end of day security measures in workspaces.
To carry out monitoring of the alarm systems as required.
To provide an overview of deliveries to site as required.
To support the Security Services Supervisor in quality and improvement initiatives.
To undertake duties in accordance with post instructions and customer requirements.
To undertake any other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as required by local management.
To provide cover for other members of the Security team.
To comply with health and safety and emergency procedures.

Key Health and Safety accountabilities include:
Working safely and efficiently and with due regard for their own health and safety and the health and safety and the welfare of others including, Company staff, Authority staff, contractors and members of the public etc.
Not interfering or misusing anything provided by G4S or the Authority in the interests of health, safety and welfare in pursuance of any of the relevant statutory provisions.
Adhering to safe systems of work procedures and practices and using appropriate safety devices, equipment and clothing provided by G4S.
Reporting to the appropriate person all unsafe conditions, damage, near misses - whether or not there are any personal injuries, in order that remedial action can be taken.
Familiarising themselves with and complying with all site rules, regulations, practices and procedures affecting health and safety.
Attending safety training in accordance with the G4S Company requirements.To comply with Part B of the Health and Safety company procedure and emergency procedures as required

The Ideal Candidate:
Essential Skills:
Good communication skills.
IT literate.
Customer focused approach.
Able to work on own initiative.
Must have a flexible and adaptable approach

Desirable Skills:
Current SIA license.
