An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager in our G4S Fire & Security Systems (UK)team based in London and South East area. The post holder will be responsible for customer care and performance related aspects of the Southern Service & Installation activity.

Role Responsibility:
  • To undertake the installation management of electronic security and fire alarm systems by electrical contractors and our own engineers.
  • To manage a team of engineers.
  • To verify the detailed accuracy of equipment specifications at the “pre-installation” stage.
  • To develop and manage site specific method statements and risk assessments where necessary.
  • To be responsible for compliance with regard to technical auditing and manage compliance with quality standards & regulations
  • To liaise with Customers and Contractors at a local / site level.
  • To attend to Customer enquires.
  • To assist in the effective planning and use of resources thereby minimising waste and the effect on the environment
  • To supervise sub-contractors effectively.
  • To ensure systems are properly tested and commissioned and installed to Company standards.
  • To ensure that staff receive appropriate and adequate training.
  • To represent the Company in a professional manner and ensure Customer satisfaction.
  • To maintain the highest standards of quality.
  • To ensure that Health and Safety requirements are upheld at all times.
  • To assist in maximising profitability and be responsible for their own P&L.
  • To maintain a detailed and accurate diary.
  • To respond to all communications within an appropriate time.
  • To use Company property responsibly and represent the Company’s best interests.
  • To be highly motivated and work on your own, with an excellent attention to detail.
  • To ensure company and Customer KPI’s are measured and adhered to


The Ideal Candidate:
Essential Requirements
  • 5 years checkable work history
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK/EU
  • Fluent written and spoken English
Preference will be given to candidates who also meet the following:
Ideal Requirements:
  • Literate & numerate (GCSE /O Level or equivalent as a minimum).
  • Qualified electrical / electronics engineer / electrician.
  • Enhanced Vetting.
  • Previous experience in the installation or maintenance of security and or fire systems.
  • Experience of working in a Customer facing field based environment.
  • Highly computer literate- ‘Intermediate’ knowledge of applications such as MS Office suite.
  • Management of electrical contractors and company approved sub-contractors
  • Highly presentable.Highly practical.Excellent communication skills – both written & verbal.Financially aware.Team player.Impeccable integrity and Excellent attendance record.
  • Current / valid driving licence. Willingness to travel nationally and, on occasion, internationally. Willingness to work varying hours as necessary. Ability to adapt to a widening product portfolio.
  • Willingness to relocate or reside within a commutable distance
Desirable:
  • Network and/or Microsoft related qualifications.
  • Formal engineering apprenticeship, HNC / Degree in electronics.
  • Experience in the installation of network based systems.
  • Experience in projects in excess of £50k.
  • Knowledge of relevant British Standards for Installation and Commissioning of Fire Alarm, Intruder, Access and CCTV. Experience of the Gent by Honeywell Vigilon and Vigilon Voice product range.
  • ‘Basic’ knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD.
