Applicants are invited to apply for the position of Port Security Administrator within the Port of Liverpool Police, based at the Port of Liverpool.

Role Purpose: To provide high quality administrative support to Port Security through the management of the International Ship and Port Security Code (ISPS) pass system. To accurately manage all information provided in a secure manner, in line with the Data Protection Act.

This role will include the following responsibilities:
  • Provide a personable and professional approach, maintaining close relationships with all Peel Ports employees, Site Tenants, Contractors and 3rd Parties, in order to comply with ISPS requirements
  • Enforce ISPS security requirements for all new and existing pass holders, in line with the Department for Transport Maritime Security Division requirements
  • Complete regular system update tasks, such as Data cleansing, in accordance with the Data Protection Act
  • Maintain levels of stock necessary to undertake the role
  • Resolve any issues surrounding the ISPS pass, such as lost, stolen or damaged passes, reporting any system faults to the suppliers with immediate effect
  • Update Database and Internal Systems with pass holders personal information, ensuring all information is entered correctly
  • Accurately manage telephone and email enquiries, ensuring all issues are resolved within a timely manner
  • Complete payment transactions accurately for invoicing purposes 

Applicants interested in the position of Port Security Administrator should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

  • 5 A*-C GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, including Maths and English
  • Relevant administrative experience gained within a fast moving environment
  • Excellent organisational skills with an ability to manage, multi-task and prioritise workload, on a day-to-day basis
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision, possessing a positive attitude and approach to tasks required 
  • Strong communication skills, energy and enthusiasm with the ability to work closely with core business functions
  • Basic understanding of database systems would be desired
  • A full UK valid Driving Licence is essential
