Position Description

Security Manager - London.


BAM Nuttall is part of a joint venture constructing the Western section of the Thames Tideway Tunnel, and we are seeking a Security Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that the Main Works Contractor (MWC) Security Plans are implemented at various worksites.

The duties of the Security Manager includes, but is not limited to, the duties described below:

• Maintaining daily liaison with the Client Project Security Manager.
• Attending formal meetings, recording discussions and actions and distribution of minutes for:
- Weekly meetings with the Client Project Security Manager, worksite security staff and other interested parties; and
- Monthly meeting with the Client Project Manager; Meetings with third worksite security personnel.
• Attending quarterly Project-wide security meetings attended by all Main Works Contractors Security Representatives and Security Partners.
• Delivering and managing a system for (a) Prevention of unauthorised access to worksites (b) the prevention and detection of crime, and (c) all crime and security related issues.
• Supervision and audit of performance of the Project Security Company and their staff at the various worksites, especially with regard to: training, emergency preparedness, safety performance and first aid, and competence of their management and staff.
• Advising with formulating and implementing corporate and local worksite plans in respect of Emergency and Security responses.
• Providing heightened quality and strict management of access/egress control to all sites, and especially those within or adjacent to areas of a recognised permanent terrorist threat.
• The liaison with law enforcement and other emergency services, as well as other interested parties, e.g. project security partner, local authority departments etc.
• In co-operation with RLE Security, the appropriate screening of employees, contractors and sub-contractors and their staff, in particular those in sensitive areas.
• Ensuring the protection of tangible and intangible assets of Tideway, Thames Water, Mains Works Contractors and sub-contractors where necessary and the investigation of matters of theft, fraud, damage, loss or non-accidental injury committed against those parties and their staff where appropriate.
• Jointly with HSSE, IR and training managers, vet pass applications and subsequent maintenance of records relating to issue, suspension and withdrawal of the same.
Required Experience

Your skills and experience should include:

• Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Have worked in a similar role at senior level in the construction industry.
• Strategic orientation with ability to act tactically, as required.
• Member of SIA with specific qualification.
• Understanding of incidents of crime to allow the competent presentation, analysis, monitoring and preparation of statistics to identify trends and strategies for improvement.
