Working 36.5 Hours per week

You will work daily shifts of approximately 7 hours 18 minutes on a rota basis with starts between 05.45 hours and finishes up to 22.00 hours although you may be required to cover night shifts on occasion. Shift work is from Monday to Sunday as we operate a 24/7 operation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the Security Team at the Library of Birmingham. You will deliver front of house library services including joining customers to the library, issuing books and dealing with various customer queries. You will provide a security presence for the library staff and members of the public.

You will secure the building and its contents, operate our CCTV system, and respond to any emergency situations such as fire alarms, and have responsibility to manage conflicts and difficult situations. You should have the ability to stay calm in a pressured environment, adopt a flexible approach to work and prioritise duties in an ever changing environment.

Previous experience in the security industry including key handling, operating CCTV and alarm systems, and managing conflict is essential.
