Description

Purpose of Post: To develop and oversee the delivery of a secure working environment for a busy Head Office location with multi-cultural staff under the direction of the Security Manager. The office operates in an industry that is heavily regulated and the post-holder will be expected to deputise for the Security Manager in his absence.

Activities to be Delivered:
Manage the day to day security operations for the Gloucester office.
Manage the production and issue of security passes.
To be the first Point of Contact for the Supervisor of the manned security provider.
Maintain performance records on a monthly basis for KPIs to measure the manned security provider’s performance.
Maintain the security requirements necessary for holding Sensitive Nuclear Information at the OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE level across the whole site.
Deputise initially as, and then develop to become, the Security Controller for the Secure Data Room.
Oversee the production of Assignment Instructions and ensure they are maintained and kept up to date.
Set up monthly meetings between the Security Provider and Hitachi Nuclear Energy Europe Ltd, to discuss previous performance and future activities.
Support future projects to develop the IT infrastructure and further enhancements.
To support the process for staff members to gain the appropriate security clearances.
To review all requirements for call outs to repair security equipment and utilities.
To review security patrol reports on a daily basis and to investigate any reported incidents and provide solutions.
Ensure appropriate security clearances for visitors are valid for visits and meetings.
To deputise for the Security Manager in his absence.
Level of Interaction: Internal liaison within the company at all levels from senior management down, and with external stakeholders – predominantly the ONR, the Duty Holder and the Security Provider.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory:
Qualification in security or membership of a professional security-related body, or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Working knowledge of the civil nuclear security legislation and regulations.
Experience of working in a regulated industry.
Demonstrable skills and capabilities in the following areas:
Provision and oversight of security procedures and processes.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Stakeholder awareness and management.
Organisational skills.
Ability as a project manager.
Ability to communicate with staff at all levels to explain the reasoning behind measures.
UK national – due to access to “UK Eyes Only” information and to deputise as the Security Controller.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a multi-cultural environment.
Managed a manned security contract.
