Job Introduction:

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Security Supervisor to join the G4S Secure Solutions (UK) team in London area.

This would be a trained, competent and skilled individual who manages team(s) of staff to deliver customer and company requirements. They must provide G4S with a security service which is responsive to the needs of the customer, delivering 24 hour security operations encompassing accreditation, access control, search, patrols and command & control. This contract includes a large number of staff employed on shifts providing 24/7 operational support across the designated geographical zones ranging from West, Central to East London, Perimeter security for each worksite location must be maintained and a timely response to incidents and escalation is paramount to the contract success. Flexibility is essential as this is a dynamic and rapidly developing project.

Role Responsibility:

Key responsibilities:
Manage the operational routine of each shift, which includes:
Arranging cover for dropped shifts
Local break relief rotations
Production of local operational records, reports and returns, ensuring compliance to client and company procedures.
Management Support:
Support internal audits, testing and reviews to ensure compliance with ISO 9001.2008; and G4S, client and industry standards.
Performance management of designated staff, including development and training.
Conducting counseling sessions, investigations and disciplinary hearings when required
As the Zone Supervisor of Operations on duty

Supervision of designated staff, ensuring duties are performed in accordance with training, Assignment Instructions and local Standard Operating Procedures in a professional manner
Task the security officers to carry out their duties and brief them as required (including recording daily pre-shift briefings)
Ensure efficient use of staff and equipment in accordance with Assignment Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
Implement all processes and procedures in line with both client and G4S standards and compliance with legal requirements
Monitor and evaluate staff performance and ensure training needs identified (to be recorded in monthly Care Visit Reports)
Ensure staff are correctly and smartly attired (including PPE where appropriate)
Ensure all equipment is in good working order
Production of Reports & Returns summarising key activities
Security incidents are dealt with professionally, efficiently and in accordance with laid down procedures.
Liaise with emergency services (where appropriate)
Accurate records are kept of incidents and escalated to the client in a timely manner
Maintenance of records associated with duties
Highlight areas of concern to Zone manager

Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities
Able to record and report incidents as well as producing accurate general reports.
Competent in the use of IT systems (MS Office)
SIA licensed - (Minimum SIA DS)
CSCS trained (G4S will provide training)
Successful completion of relevant training and refresher courses
Good standard of verbal and written communications
Must be able to travel to/from designated area in London for start of shift times
12 hour shifts, (4 days/4 nights/4 off rolling roster).
