The Role
We are looking for an experienced learning and development professional to join our new management team. This is a pivotal new role supporting the development of both operational and support staff and managers in the newly formed Parliamentary Security Department (PSD). Engaging with senior managers and all staff, your role will involve the delivery and design of courses, working with external providers and the Parliamentary
Learning and Development team to develop and implement a new range of training and development activities for PSD. You will engage with the newly transferred workforce, and this offers a unique opportunity to support Parliamentary security, working with front line staff delivering excellent security services. This will include some specialist security training but also customer service and the ability to test and run exercises for the workforce to ensure we are prepared for dealing with a number security threats.
The Person
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
Sound knowledge and experience in all aspects of learning & development, including learning methodology, design and evaluation.
Demonstrable skills in working inclusively and flexibly within a range of internal colleagues / stakeholders and external providers to deliver high quality development services and products.
Experience of designing and delivering classroom learning with an awareness of accessibility and inclusion in learning activities and in embedding competency based development. Experience (and understanding of the challenges) of delivering L & D initiatives in a range of ways to facilitate access for staff working in a 24/7 operation.
